Melbourne Conversations

We’ve partnered with the at Knowledge Melbourne to deliver sustainability themed discussions as part of the Melbourne Conversations series. Melbourne Conversations (re)connect Melbournians to their community through discussion, commentary and participation on vital issues and ideas.

Our first conversation explored how past and present Aboriginal food and agricultural practices could enable access to healthy and culturally appropriate food. Underpinned by principles of self-determination, our panel discussed how we can enable Aboriginal ideas and Aboriginal people to influence food system transformation. Watch a recording of this event.

Join us for our next conversation on Wednesday 20 October, 12.30pm-1.30pm to hear from a dynamic panel on the global food system and the impact ultra-processed foods are having on people and planet. More information here.

Exploring the intersection of public health and digital food systems

It’s estimated that one-third of adults living in Australian major cities use food delivery platforms, resulting in over 68 million online food orders each year, with 20-40 yar olds leading the way. This increasing trend to use online platforms to engage with, order and deliver food provides an unprecedented conduit to facilitate healthier food selection and ultimately improve the health of individuals, and populations.
